A year at our school

2026

The Resilience Project

Throughout the year, our students take part in our Resilience Project lessons, building skills in gratitude, empathy and mindfulness. This gallery captures special moments from these sessions as students learn, reflect and grow together.

First Nations Family BBQ

Our First Nations Family Barbeque at the Yarning Circle provided a wonderful opportunity for families, students and our Aboriginal Education Team to come together in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Despite a light shower of rain, it was fantastic to see so many families attend and connect with staff.

The evening created space for meaningful conversations about upcoming opportunities, future workshops and the progress of our students. Thank you to our dedicated team for supporting the BBQ and activities, and to the families who joined us and shared their ideas. It was a warm and enjoyable evening of community and connection.

Year 7 and Year 11 Peer Support Camp

Our Year 7 and Year 11 students attended the Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Camp for three days of adventure, challenge and connection. With early starts and plenty of enthusiasm, students embraced a wide range of activities designed to build confidence, resilience and teamwork.

From canoeing and mountain biking to archery tag, maze challenges and team-building initiatives, students were encouraged to step outside their comfort zones and support one another. They also developed practical outdoor skills, including fire lighting, damper cooking and shelter building. Evening activities further strengthened leadership and collaboration, creating lasting memories and strong bonds across year groups.

We thank our dedicated staff for their support in making this camp such a rewarding and memorable experience for our students.

University of Wollongong Discovery Day

Each year, a group of Year 12 students attend Discovery Day at the University of Wollongong, where they explore future study pathways and experience campus life. Students participate in sessions of their choice across a wide range of faculty areas, gaining valuable insight into university courses and career opportunities.

We thank the University of Wollongong for hosting such an informative and engaging event.

Lions Youth of the Year Competition

We are proud to celebrate our four School Captains — Will Chisholm, Riley Dobson, Patrick Field and Matika Simmons — who represented our school at the Lions Youth of the Year Competition.

Congratulations to Patrick Field, named overall Lion’s Youth of the Year Winner, and to Riley Dobson for receiving the Public Speaking Award. Public speaking can be a daunting challenge, and we commend all four students for their courage, dedication and commitment in taking part in this prestigious event.

Our sincere thanks to the Junee Lions Club for their ongoing support and for organising such a valuable opportunity for our students.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening a success.

Year 6 Transition Day 1

We were thrilled to welcome our incoming Year 7 students for their first Year 6 Transition Day! The day provided students with an exciting opportunity to explore their new school environment, meet teachers and classmates, and take part in a range of fun and engaging orientation activities.

The program was designed to help students begin feeling comfortable and confident about the transition to high school. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, new friendships forming, and enthusiasm for the next chapter of their learning journey.

We look forward to seeing our future Year 7s back again for their next transition day!

The annual School Ball was a memorable evening filled with dancing, laughter, and great music, as we celebrated the Year 12 graduating class. It was a wonderful way to honour the achievements of our graduates and share in their final moments of high school with style and joy.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make our NAIDOC Day celebrations such a meaningful and memorable experience. Special thanks to Kate Kennedy for her incredible work in organising the day, and to all the wonderful visitors who generously shared their time, knowledge, and culture with our students.

The day began with a powerful Smoking Ceremony, setting a respectful and reflective tone for the events that followed. Students had the opportunity to take part in a range of engaging and culturally enriching activities, including making Johnny cakes, learning about traditional Wiradjuri tools and weapons, exploring the Wiradjuri language, enjoying traditional dance, and participating in face painting.

We are so grateful to our guests for bringing these experiences to life and to our students for their enthusiastic participation and respectful engagement throughout the day. NAIDOC Day is a time to celebrate and recognise the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and we are proud of how our school community came together to honour this important occasion.

This year's production of "Rouges' Gallery" follows the unfortunate story of two security guards who mistakenly missed their shift at a local art gallery and arrive to find a famous art piece destroyed. As they go back through the day's security footage to find the culprit, they watch with the audience the unfortunate mistakes made by the gallery's vistors and employees that lead to the artworks destruction. The production was a huge success with amazing performances from all actors, dancers, vocalists and musicians, and great work from the backstage crew. All of the cast, crew and staff are to commended for their efforts.
