MC Unit Multi-sport Day

When: 9am - 2pm Monday 31 August

Where: PCYC, 11 Fitzhardinge St, Wagga Wagga

What: Selected students will have the opportunity to participate in an Inclusive School Sport Multi-Sport Day, designed to be fun, welcoming and inclusive for students with disability. Students will rotate through seven different sports, participating in adapted skills, drills and modified games suited to their individual abilities. A range of sports will be available throughout the day, with the final timetable confirmed at the venue.

OMNIA Inclusive Employment Solutions School Visit

When: 9:15am - 10:15am Monday 31 August

Where: JHS

What: OMNIA Inclusive Employment Solutions will be visiting Junee High School to deliver a series of sessions focused on workplace readiness, communication, teamwork and post-school transition skills. The sessions will support students to build confidence, identify their personal strengths and prepare for future employment, further education and independent living opportunities.

Student Leader Election Speeches

When: Monday 31 August

Where: JHS MPC

What: All students and staff will head to the MPC after the morning bell to hear the Year 11 Student Leader candidates deliver their speeches. Following the speeches, students will return to their roll call rooms to watch a short video introducing the candidates before casting their votes.

Year 12 Hospitality Parent Dinner

When: Monday 31 August

Where: JHS

What: Year 12 Hospitality students will host parents, family members, friends and staff for a special dinner held at school as part of their course. Students will put their hospitality skills into practice through the preparation, service and delivery of the evening. Year 11 Cookery students will also be involved during the day, preparing food for the dinner as part of their practical learning.

Year 10 VALID Science Test

When: Wednesday 2 September

Where: JHS Learning Centre

What: Year 10 students will complete the VALID Science assessment, an online end-of-stage assessment for the Science key learning area. The assessment provides students with an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the Science concepts and skills developed throughout their studies.

Stage 6 Industry Study

When: 7:45am - 3:15pm Wednesday 2 September

Where: AKD Industries (Tumut)

What: Year 11 and 12 Timber students will travel to Tumut to undertake an Industry Study at AKD as part of their HSC course requirements. Students will gain valuable insight into industry practices and the timber industry through this practical learning experience. Due to the nature of the workplace environment, students are required to wear appropriate clothing, including enclosed footwear, long pants and a long-sleeved top.

Year 12 Trivia Night

When: 6pm Wednesday 2 September

Where: Junee Ex-Services Club

What: Year 12 Work Studies students are hosting a Trivia Night at the Junee Ex-Services Club to raise funds for Junee Can Assist, supporting local residents diagnosed with cancer. Enjoy a night of trivia, games and a raffle, with sweet and savoury food prepared by our VET Hospitality Cookery students.

Cost: $15 per person | Free entry for children 12 and under

MC Unit Beauty Day

When: 9am - 11am Friday 4 September

Where: Deb on Hair

What: Support Unit students will visit Deb on Hair, a local hair salon, for a real-life salon experience. Students will have their hair professionally washed and blow-dried while learning about personal care and grooming, communicating with salon staff and appropriate behaviour in a community setting. This enjoyable experience will help students build confidence, independence and community participation skills.

Made For A Trade

When: Friday 28 August

Where: NSW TAFE Wagga Wagga Campus

What: Selected Year 10 students will participate in the Made for a Trade program, designed to explore careers in the building and construction industry. Through TAFE taster days, industry tours, guest speakers and compulsory work experience, students will gain hands-on experience in a range of trades while exploring future education, training and apprenticeship pathways.
