Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
The Resilience Project
At Junee High School, student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. In 2026, we are proud to introduce The Resilience Project (TRP) as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the wellbeing of our students, staff and families.
The Resilience Project is a research-based wellbeing program designed to build resilience and strengthen overall wellbeing. It focuses on the key principles of Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness (GEM) and Emotional Literacy. Through these principles, students learn practical strategies to help them navigate challenges, strengthen relationships and build healthy habits that support lifelong wellbeing.
Students participate in dedicated TRP lessons for 20 minutes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Each student receives a TRP Workbook, which is kept at school and used during lessons, linking directly to what is being taught, and a Student Diary that travels between home and school. The diary supports daily organisation, as well as weekly and monthly reflections and wellbeing activities connected to the GEM principles.
We believe wellbeing is most powerful when schools and families work together. We encourage parents and carers to engage with their child’s learning by discussing the concepts explored in TRP lessons and practising simple GEM strategies at home.

How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- year advisors who prioritise their students' wellbeing
- access to a student support officer, school chaplain and school psychologist
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.
