Starting high school is an exciting milestone for students and their families. Our Year 6 to Year 7 Transition Program and information is designed to help students feel confident, connected and ready for the next stage of their learning journey. We work closely with students, families and primary schools to ensure a smooth and positive transition into our school community.

Our Year 6 to Year 7 Transition Program

We offer a range of transition opportunities to help students feel confident and connected as they prepare for high school. From transition days with local primary schools and peer support programs to parent information sessions and school tours, our transition program is designed to support both students and families every step of the way.

Transition Days

Our three transition days, held throughout Term 4, provide Year 6 students with the opportunity to experience life as a high school student before they start Year 7. Working closely with our local primary schools, we invite students to visit our school and become familiar with their new learning environment.

Peer Support Program

Our Peer Support Program helps students feel welcomed and supported from the moment they begin high school.

Year 10 students are trained as peer support leaders and work closely with incoming Year 7 students during transition activities and throughout their first year of high school.

Starting high school is an important transition for families as well as students. Our Parent Information Session provides an opportunity to learn more about our school and what to expect in Year 7.

Year 7 and 11 Peer Support Camp

Held early in Term 1, the Year 7 and 11 Peer Support Camp is an important part of our transition program. The camp provides students with the opportunity to strengthen connections with their Year 11 peer support leaders while building friendships with their fellow Year 7 students.
