At Junee High School, we are committed to helping every student explore their interests, discover their strengths and prepare for life beyond school. Whether students are still exploring their options or have a clear career pathway in mind, our Careers faculty provides a wide range of opportunities to build skills, gain real-world experience and make informed decisions about their future.

Career pathways and opportunities

Every student's journey is different. Some students already know the career they want to pursue, while others are still discovering where their interests and strengths may lead them. Through programs including work experience, TAFE, school-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SBATs), careers expos, university experiences and partnerships with industry and external organisations, we support students to achieve their goals with confidence.

Work Experience Placements

Work experience gives students the opportunity to explore potential career pathways in a real workplace. Students can build practical skills, develop confidence, gain valuable industry insight and make informed decisions about their future.

School-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SBATs)

SBATs allow students to combine school with paid employment and nationally recognised qualifications. Students gain valuable workplace experience while developing industry skills and working towards a career pathway before finishing school.

TAFE courses

TAFE courses allow students to develop practical, industry-specific skills while completing their secondary education. These courses can lead to nationally recognised qualifications and provide valuable pathways into employment, apprenticeships or further study.

Careers and trades expos

Careers expos and industry events introduce students to a wide range of career and study options in one place. Students can speak directly with employers, universities, training providers and industry representatives to learn about future opportunities and pathways.

University explore days

University visits provide students with the opportunity to experience campus life, explore different courses and gain a better understanding of tertiary study. These experiences help students make informed decisions about future education and career pathways.

Throughout the year, students have opportunities to hear directly from universities, TAFE, employers and industry professionals. These presentations provide valuable information about career pathways, further study options and employment opportunities while helping students build connections with organisations beyond school.

Made for a Trade Building program. The 10 week program allowed students to experience a range of building trades through practical workshops at TAFE, work experience and through tours of local industry.

Be a Health Hero program which showcased the different careers in allied health. Time was spent between WWBH, Calvary hospital and TAFE.
